Hello, if I am being completely honest, I only read one of the readings we were supposed to read because I do not have the textbook yet. However, I did read the Ann Lamott article, so I will write about this and come back later and revamp this blog post. Anyways, Ann Lamott does an excellent job of conveying her message about shitty drafts and how they come out to be something excellent in the end. Since in her wording, "the first draft is the child’s draft, where you let it all pour out and then let it romp all over the place, knowing that no one is going to see it and that you can shape it later" (Lamott, 302). I do agree with this statement because once I read this article I started to realize that most of the papers I have turned in for my classes were once "shitty drafts". I really made a first draft for most of these papers, and then later revised it without realizing this concept that Ann Lamott is pointing out. I also feel like her ideas are consistent with my ideas of what it takes for it to be a good writer since what I think makes a good writer is self awareness, and the ability to make a mistake without feeling bad about it. At the moment I do not see anything that would be trivial to what I think makes a good writer, but this may change once I read the next reading.
one of the most recognized logos in the world telling you to just revise.
